Canada is one of the top polluters in the world when it comes to the amount of greenhouse gases released per person in the population. Although we may not have control over everything our country does, the lifestyles we lead are one of the reasons we have such high emissions. Canadians often use heating excessively in the Winter when compared to other parts of the world. This can be seen by the stark contrast in temperatures between the outdoors and the inside of our homes. We end up going from a very cold environment where we must wear jackets and long johns, to a hot home where we are only wearing shorts and t-shirts. Climate change is not going away, and change is necessary. Wearing shorts in the winter is not! This photo story is not meant to ridicule anyone… just think about throwing on another layer before you touch that thermostat.
